Welcome to ChorePulse! By accessing or using our application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") andChorePulse ("we," "us," or "our").

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You agree to:

• Provide truthful and accurate information
• Keep your account information up to date
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 PIN Security

Each family member requires a unique 4-digit PIN for access. You are responsible for:

• Keeping PINs confidential
• Choosing secure PINs (avoid 0000, 1234, etc.)
• Updating PINs if compromised
• Notifying us immediately of unauthorized access

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Permitted Uses

You may use the Service to:

• Manage household chores and tasks
• Track family member progress and points
• View family calendar events
• Create and manage rewards
• Generate family activity reports

4.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated scripts or bots
• Share your account with non-family members
• Collect data from other users without permission
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others

5. User Content and Data

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all data you input into the Service (task descriptions, notes, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

5.2 Content Standards

All content you create must be appropriate for a family environment. Content must not contain:

• Offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate language
• Discriminatory or hateful content
• Violent or threatening material
• Sexually explicit content
• Personal information of others without consent

5.3 Backup and Data Loss

While we implement regular backups, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important data. We are not liable for data loss, though we will make reasonable efforts to prevent it.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Our Property

The Service, including its design, features, graphics, and code, is owned by ChorePulse and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works
• Distribute, sell, or rent the Service
• Remove copyright or proprietary notices
• Use our trademarks without permission

6.2 Emoji Avatars

Emoji avatars used in the Service are provided by system fonts and are displayed in accordance with Unicode standards. We do not claim ownership of emoji characters themselves.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy, including COPPA compliance for children's data.

7.6 Advertising & Affiliate Relationships

7.6.1 Advertising

The Service may display third-party advertisements (including Google Ads). By using the Service, you:

• Acknowledge that ads will be displayed
• Understand ads may be targeted based on your activity (see Privacy Policy)
• Agree that we are not responsible for advertiser content or claims
• Can opt out of personalized ads through your browser/device settings

7.6.2 Affiliate Links & FTC Disclosure

The Service may contain affiliate links to products or services. In compliance with FTC guidelines:

• We may earn commissions from purchases made through affiliate links
• Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content
• We only recommend products we believe will benefit families
• Clicking affiliate links is optional

7.6.3 Anonymized Data Sales

As disclosed in our Privacy Policy, we may sell anonymized, aggregated data for research purposes:

• Data is fully anonymized and cannot be linked to you

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, you agree to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We access your calendar with read-only permissions and are not responsible for Google's services or policies.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, terms, or privacy practices of external sites.

9. Service Availability and Modifications

9.1 Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues. We are not liable for any interruptions.

9.2 Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice. We are not liable for any modifications or discontinuation.

• Actions of your family members using your account

If you have a dispute, please contact us first at support@chorepulse.com. We will attempt to resolve disputes informally within 30 days.
